The Punchline
And the joke? Well that would appear to be the half a million pound logo for the 2012 London Olympics.
Half a million pounds for a throw back from the 1980’s, what were they thinking? You could find dozens of people on the internet that could give you a better logo, heck some of them would do it for free too.

Both of which have more of a timeless feel to it (keeping in mind the Olympics are not for another 5 years, so the logo needs to last till then at least), but not only that, they are clever in their structure especially the one by Jason Wilson which plays on the logo for the London Underground.
