Step out of the gloom

Step out of the gloom
Night Watch

Today I brought myself a birthday present, a little early but oh well. I’ve been meaning to get Night Watch for ages now since I saw it at the cinema, its a strange film but I like it. Its a russian “fantasy” film about vampires, seers, shapeshifters etc on two different sides the forces of darkness and the forces of light. They were at war and called a truce, and began policing each others movements, vampires had to get a licence to turn someone for example. Except the truce like most truces wont last which is that the film is about.
So today I decided to once again do a search for the sequal to Night Watch called Day Watch (part of a trilogy), I like to check now and then to see when its due out. I was surprised to find it was released in January over in Russia. However it might be a while before we see it here, Night Watch was released 2004 in Russia apparently, England didn’t get it until 2005 so I am hoping that I don’t have to wait until 2007 to see Day Watch.

Presenting Uru Blogs

Presenting Uru Blogs

Surprising how idea’s come about, was browing Myst Blogs and my In Character Uru Blog, Beneath. When suddenly I had an idea which became Uru Blogs.

Whats also strange is I pretty much knew how I wanted it set up to begin with, the colours I wanted were dark green/browns and paler shades and I wanted it to mimic Myst Blogs as I envisioned it as a kind of “sister site”. Thanks to amon for the scripts, the site it working as it should be, still needs a few kinks ironed out in the CSS but thats not overly important oh and the side bar is on the left side instead of the right like I wanted it but thats cause IE was being a lil bastard as usual.

I’ve decided to discontinue creamsoda, I just don’t have the time to dedicate to it, might restart it in another 4 years ;)

Tom will be annoyed he wanted me to finish the current story arch.

Oh and anyone who subscribed to my old feed might wanna update with my new one which is; http://feeds.feedburner.com/tweek/pre-determined

Touchscreen Computer Display Floats in Mid-Air

Touchscreen Computer Display Floats in Mid-Air

IO2 Technology has the coolest sounding display I have ever seen called the M2i. The device projects a 30″ diagonal 4:3 aspect ratio display into the air. That’s right, into the air like a hologram. The entire projection unit is designed to be hidden out of site so that only the display image shows.

This looks so cool, maybe I can make one into a D’ni imager or something. Not quite holographic but its a good step in the right direction.

Lost on Tuesdays

<span class=Lost on Tuesdays" />

Lost

So Channel 4 kicked off season 2 of Lost tonight with a double episode, with E4 showing episode 3 afterwards.

So its all good, another series to answer questions yet raise more, apparently they want to do 7 seasons. Will be interesting to see if they can pull it off, they’re gonna have to keep the story fresh and people interested. I have a nasty feeling the end of it is going to be so anticlimactic.

Few things did bug me, ok well 2 things. First of these was the first 2 episodes were focused around the hatch, but I mean showing the whole Desmond/Jack/Locke confrontation, over and over again, I can understand that when the dealt with Mike and Sawyer on the boat then cut to the hatch that they were trying to show us the time frame in which events happened, but seriously it was really starting to annoy me.
The second thing, Ana Lucia. The characters been on the screen 2 minutes and I already can’t stand her, it doesn’t help the fact that I am not a fan of the actress that plays her. If she (Ana Lucia) gets her comeuppance I shall be watching in glee thats for sure.

One thing I really liked was this; Bad Twin By Gary Troup.
Its apparently written by one of the passengers of flight 815. You can actually buy it on itunes and amazon, blurring the line between realities.
